Bio

 

 

Alex Bonacci began playing drums at the age of seven.
He attended a Berklee College course where he had the pleasure to study with Ron Savage, Ken Cervenka and Matthew Nicholl and meet many great artists of all over the world.
He attended several master-classes and studied with different great musicians, such as: Jeff Berlin, Omar Hakim, Peter Erskine, Dave Weckl, JoJo Mayer, Pat Martino, Maurizio Dei Lazzaretti, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, Aaron Spears, Steve Smith, Dennis Chambers, Furio Chirico, Miroslav Vitous, Kiko Loureiro, Daryl Lowery, Larry Monroe, etc.

In 2005 he became the official drummer of the band called 'Vincent' and won the Sanremo Rock Festival with them during the same year. Attending this event he had the chance to play on the same stage on which many famous musicians were playing (i.e. Ian Paice- Deep Purple's drummer).
He took part in many radio and television programs (RaiDue, RadioDue, Sky, etc.) and in many important music contests with different artists (Heineken Jammin Festival, International Pop Overthrow, Coca Cola contest, Sanremo Rock, Premio Musicultura, Rock Targato Italia, etc.). He is also involved in the project "Renilin: OFFSIDE", produced by Renilin, with other ten artists of all over the world.

Tony Levin, Roberto Diana (Steve Lukather, Simon Phillips, Frank Gambale, Roberta Faccani, etc.), JP Cervoni, All the Mornings of the World (Heineken Jammin Festival 2012 finalist), i Vincent, Stephan Zeh, Vince Tempera, James Raymond, Brian Ray, Stefano Olla, Christian Marras, Alessia D’Andrea (Jethro Tull, Ian Anderson, David Arch, Steafan Hannigan, ecc.), Elisabetta Coraini, Rick Romano, The Sunny Boys (Italian Tour 2011 and European Tour 2012), Lowlands (“Gypsy child European Tour 2011”), Florian Opahle, Ive  (Eurovision 2009 finalist), Franco Catricalà, Ivan Battistella, “Rigo” Righetti (Ligabue), Dj Molella, Emanuele Frusi, Luca Milieri, Mario Rossman, Timerec, Antonio Notaro, Simone Borghi... Those are some of the great musicians, sound engineers and producers whom Alex Bonacci has worked with.

In 2011 he began to teach drum for the italian national school "La casa del batterista" in Turin, at the Bioritmo Studio.

Now he is the head teacher of the music school "X4M - Perform School of musicians", that is official branch of the i.c.m.p. - The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance of London, and it is an enabled center to teach the course of the Trinity College of London.
Alex is also director of the branch of Turin of the national school "La casa del batterista" and "La casa del chitarrista".

He is endorser of the italian brand UFIP - Earcreated cymbals.
